4S and Kyland Signed Strategic MOU to Localize Industrial Network Switches in Saudi Arabia
In a significant step toward advancing local manufacturing and digital infrastructure in the Kingdom, 4S and Kyland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the localization of industrial network switches under the ‘Made in KSA’ initiative.
This strategic partnership aims to tap into Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing industrial automation sector by developing locally assembled products that meet the country’s regulatory and operational requirements. The MoU outlines a phased collaboration focused on both technical feasibility and commercial viability.
Key Objectives of the MoU Include:
Exploring market opportunities for locally manufactured industrial switches in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Securing approvals from key stakeholders including ARAMCO and SABIC, with the exception of the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
Meeting minimum localization thresholds as defined by Saudi regulatory authorities.
Laying the groundwork for a long-term roadmap with clear milestones, deliverables, and strategic sales planning.
Phased Collaboration Approach
Phase 1 will focus on market awareness, proof-of-concept (POC) production, and trials with selected key clients. Hardware assembly to satisfy localization requirements will be led by 4S. This phase will be conducted under a non-exclusive collaboration framework.
Phase 2 will evolve into an agency agreement that defines annual sales targets, performance benchmarks, and exclusivity terms for approved products. This framework is essential for registration with strategic clients such as ARAMCO and SABIC and for ensuring robust local after-sales support.
This MoU represents a foundational step toward enhancing industrial automation capabilities in Saudi Arabia, aligning with national localization goals and fostering innovation through international collaboration.
