Grand Opening of H.H.I Turbomachinery J.V with 4S

Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia – May 30, 2024

Hyundai Heavy Industries Turbomachinery (HHI-TMC), a global leader in turbomachinery solutions, officially celebrated the grand opening of its joint venture with Supply and Support Service Systems Co. Ltd (4S) at a prestigious ceremony held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Al Khobar.

This milestone marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at localizing the manufacturing and servicing of critical industrial equipment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by distinguished guests and key stakeholders from the Ministry of Energy, ARAMCO, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), major EPCs, and other valued partners.

As part of its expansion in the region, Hyundai Heavy Industries Turbomachinery L.L.C. (KSA) is poised to offer a full spectrum of services including on-site support, re-engineering, repair, retrofit, and training — all under the ‘Made in Saudi’ initiative, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

A Vision for Localization and Growth
The ceremony featured inspiring remarks from key leadership figures. CEO Mr. Dong Soo Kim emphasized the strategic importance of the joint venture, stating:

“This significant milestone aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to diversify the economy and enhance the industrial sector through innovative partnerships and advanced technology.”
General Manager Mr. John JK Park highlighted the commitment to the local market, adding:

“We have successfully established our subsidiary in Saudi Arabia. We are committed to providing a full and complete package of services.”

President of 4S, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Moushegah, reflected on the journey and future goals of the partnership:

“Our partnership with HHI-TMC represents a pivotal role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. I congratulate the team for their efforts in bringing advanced technology to the Kingdom and highlight our goal to manufacture pumps and compressors locally.”

Strategic Impact
The joint venture will not only enable local manufacturing of pumps, compressors, turbines, and cryogenic equipment, but also support clients across the region, especially in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, power generation, desalination, and marine industries.

HHI-TMC has already supplied over 800 large pumps to the Saudi market, and this new venture aims to build on that success by expanding service capabilities and contributing to carbon neutrality and eco-friendly solutions in the region.

Commitment to Innovation and Excellence
Concluding the ceremony, Mr. Kim reinforced the long-term vision:

“These partnerships are more than just a business venture; they represent a commitment to the future through innovation and growth. The long-term objective is to build a new business model that extends beyond pump manufacturing, leveraging the expertise and resources of both companies to drive innovation and customer satisfaction.”

The event ended with a special recognition ceremony honoring employees who have played a significant role in the company’s journey and growth.
